This article is about the Logitech G110 gaming keyboard and it is intended as a brief overview for those computer gamers looking to maybe upgrade or replace their present keyboard.
This product is primarily aimed at specialist gamers who do not have the necessary funds to purchase a top of the range keyboard but still providing them with a few excellent features necessary for faster and more complex game play as this is still a capable dedicated unit.
The feature that is most obviously missing from the G110 is the LCD display screen that is installed on the costlier G19 model but as this is a relatively new innovation it is possible a number of gamers will not have used one previously and therefore it will not detract from their enjoyment or abilities.
The G110 has twelve programmable keys and three macros can be added per key making a total of 36, including single and complex permutations and it also allows the user to create macros on the fly, most gamers should have no problem in setting up the macros as they are relatively simple to do on this model.
The operation of the keys is non-mechanical on this unit, and are quiet and very smooth, and they should suit most people with the right amount of tactility, there is also back lighting available to the user in a range of colors than can be customized to suit.
Also included is pc/game mode switch that allows some keyboard function keys to be turned off during gaming to prevent untimely accidental key presses.
There is only one USB port installed on the G110 for connecting mice and other devices, which may be a minor nuisance for some although this is, of course, easily overcome.
Two sockets are included on this model to accommodate headsets and microphones.
Single touch controls are employed for media playback and volume level, and the base of the unit contains a channel for keeping wires and cables tidy and out of the way during use.
As is obvious from the above, there are not quite as many features available on this keyboard as on other Logitech models, but this in no way detracts from the quality of this unit as a whole and for those people on a budget it should prove more than satisfactory as there have been very few serious complaints from the gamers who have bought this model, additionally, it seems suitable for most types of gaming judging my many of the comments from the gaming fraternity.
